Teaching Background
In 2010, I graduated from San Diego State University with a credential in Education Specialist for Mild/Moderate Disabilities and Bilingual Credential in Multiple Subject Areas. Fortunately, I joined the innovative team at Lakeside School District and became an Immersion teacher at Riverview Language Academy, "A Leader in Me" School. This is my third year at Riverview and each year, I have grown as professional and an individual. I am currently attending San Diego State University to further enhance my education in Master's in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Technology. Educational Philosophy Life is an eternal process of learning. I hope to influence students who are linguistically diverse and/or have a disability. I am passionate about Language Immersion Programs, Special Education and integration of technology. Currently, I allow my students to be creative and share knowledge with others through the use of 1 to 1 iPads. Students utilize various apps to enhance their skills in reading, writing, science and mathematics based on the Common Core State Standards and The Next Generation Science Standards. I strongly believe that students should be active participants in their own learning and become a community of learners. In addition, students learn best by engaging in real-world activities and close reading. Lastly, I believe that educators, parents and the community can prepare students for the 21st century by analyzing and solving problems through contextual learning based on Tony Wagner's Seven Survival Skills.
